In brief: Analysts raise growth forecast for Mexico

* Economic analysts surveyed by Citibanamex, the Mexican banking unit of US financial giant Citigroup Inc, have forecast GDP to grow by 2.9% by the end of 2023 - an increase from the 2.7% forecast made in the previous survey. The analysts also forecast that annual inflation will be 4.67%, a slight decrease from 4.68% forecasted in the previous survey. As for core inflation, the analysts’ projection marginally increased to 5.16%, up from 5.15% in the previous survey. As in the previous survey, the analysts agree that Banxico will maintain interest rates at 11.25% for a while longer, with the earliest rate cut of 25 basis points anticipated for the end of the year, which would bring the rate to 11%.
