In brief: Panama’s monthly inflation slows

* Panama’s national statistics institute (Inec) has released new figures which show that monthly inflation in July was 0.0%, bringing the year-on-year rate to 0.6%. Monthly inflation was down from 0.1% in June and 0.2% in May. Year-on-year inflation in July was driven by housing, water, electricity & gas (+9.2%), goods & various services (+3.9%), and education (+3.7%). Sectors which showed a drop in year-on-year terms included transport (-5.9%) and health (-2.5%), among others.
