GUATEMALA: Veterans back Torres ahead of run-off
On 15 August Guatemala’s military veterans’ association (Avemilgua) endorsed presidential candidate Sandra Torres (Unidad Nacional de la Esperanza, UNE) ahead of the 20 August presidential second-round run-off in which she will face anti-graft contender Bernardo Arévalo of the left-of-centre Movimiento Semilla (Semilla).
