In brief: Paraguay’s annual inflation drops within target range

* Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has announced that the monthly inflation rate in July was 0%, meaning yearly inflation stood at 3.5% – down from 4.2% annual inflation in June. This brings the rate within the BCP’s target of 4% for the first time in over two years. Core inflation, which excludes fuel, utilities and some food items, was running at a monthly rate of 0.2% in July this year, with annual core inflation at 4.3%.
