BRAZIL: Authorities demand data on Bolsonaro social media posts
On 17 July Brazil’s federal prosecutor’s office (MPF) filed a request to the supreme court (STF) to order big tech companies, such as Meta and Twitter, to provide data on the social media content posted by the right-wing former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2023), who had allegedly spread online misinformation seeking to discredit democratic processes and institutions.
