MEXICO: CFE struggles to meet growing power demand

High temperatures across Mexico during the first three weeks of June led to an increase in demand for electricity as usage of air conditioning units and fans shot up. This stretched the capacity of the state-owned electricity firm Comisión Federal de Electridad (CFE) and resulted in blackouts in several locations across the country.
