Milei fighting for political survival in Argentina

Argentina’s national electoral justice system formally launched an investigation on 11 July into La Libertad Avanza (LLA), the party led by the far-right presidential candidate Javier Milei, for the alleged sale of candidatures. The growing scandal around Milei has contributed in no small part to the Argentine presidential elections acquiring the more traditional appearance of a straight shootout between the ruling left-of-centre Unión por la Patria (UP) Peronist coalition and the main right-of-centre Juntos por el Cambio (JxC) coalition as the anti-establishment outsider has fallen back in the polls.
