President Xiomara Castro met her Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping last week in what was her first trip to China since her government announced its decision in March to switch diplomatic allegiance from Taiwan to Beijing [WR-23-13], leaving just Guatemala and Belize as Taipei allies in the sub-region.
