MEXICO | Government urges Taiwanese firms to invest in Isthmus. On 19 June, Mexico’s economy ministry (SE) announced that representatives from 20 Taiwanese microchip and circuit board companies, as well as heads of industry associations, had visited Mexico. The SE said the visit aimed to strengthen economic ties with the Taiwanese companies and show them the opportunities offered by Mexico in terms of investment, especially in the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT). The Taiwanese delegation met with Mexico’s Economy Minister Raquel Buenrostro and the president of Mexico’s umbrella business association Consejo Coordinador Empresarial (CCE), Francisco Cervantes Díaz, as well as other Mexican business leaders.
