In brief: Peru’s trade surplus shrinks in monthly terms

* Peru’s central bank (BCRP) has announced that the country registered a trade surplus of US$1.21bn in April, down from a surplus of US$1.43bn in March, but up from US$311m in April 2022. Exports in April totalled US$5.06bn, down from US$5.78bn in March and down from US$5.35bn in April 2022. Imports totalled US$3.84bn, down from US$4.34bn in March and down from US$5.04bn in April 2022.
