* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released figures showing that 1.1m international tourists visited Argentina in April 2023, a 98.9% year-on-year increase. Indec’s figures show that 4.34m international tourists visited the country in the first four months of the year, a 209.6% increase on the same period in 2022. In April 2023, the majority of tourists came from three countries: Uruguay (25.9% of the total), Chile (21.9%), and Brazil (14.9%).
