* Nicaragua’s central bank (BCN) has released new figures which show that remittances to the country totalled US$374.3m in April, up 60% on the same month in 2022. According to the BCN, remittances in the first four months of 2023 totalled US$1.39bn, up 60.9% on the same period in 2022. Of the total remittances sent to the country in April, 80.8% were from the US, followed by Costa Rica (6.4%), Spain (5.6%), and Panama (1.2%).
