* Chile’s central bank (BCCh) has reported a 0.5% decline in the monthly index of economic activity (Imacec), which is considered an advance estimate of GDP, in February compared with the same month in 2022. In monthly seasonally adjusted terms, the Imacec was down 0.3% compared to January. According to the BCCh, this result is owed to a drop in trade (down 4.1% year-on-year) and the production of goods (down 0.7%). However, it stated that growth of 1.5% in services somewhat compensated for these declines.
