* A second runway has been inaugurated at the Jorge Chávez international airport in Peru’s capital, Lima, as part of a PEN2bn (US$530.2m) initiative to expand the airport. The expansion project has also included the installation of a new air traffic control tower, 10km of taxiways, and aircraft guiding equipment. According to state news agency Andina, this will allow the airport to receive any type of aircraft.
