MEXICO: Blow for electoral reform
A legal battle is brewing over President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s controversial ‘Plan B’ electoral reform, which was passed by the senate in December [WR-23-04]. The supreme court (SCJN), with which López Obrador has already been at odds in recent weeks, announced that it was suspending the reform, eliciting an immediate challenge from the government.
