* Chile’s national statistics institute (INE) has released new figures which show monthly inflation in February was -0.1%, down from 0.8% in January and 0.3% in December. The 12-month rate stood at 11.9%, down from 12.3% the month before. The INE highlighted monthly price decreases for transport (-2.7%) and food & non-alcoholic drinks (-0.3%), while noting price increases for clothing & footwear (+3.9%). While this marks the second consecutive month of decreases in the annual rate of inflation, it continues to remain well above the 3% target set by Chile’s central bank (BCCh).
