Peru’s President Pedro Castillo has named his seventh interior minister since taking office just under a year ago. When Mariano González was appointed on 4 July after congress voted to censure the previous incumbent, Dimitri Senmache, we suggested that, at the current turnover rate, González would be doing well if he lasted longer in his present post than the four months he served as defence minister during the ill-fated presidency of Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (2016-2018) [WR-22-27].
