President Nayib Bukele has celebrated three years since his Nuevas Ideas (NI) government took office. In his balance sheet he claimed multiple achievements, ranging from El Salvador’s economic recovery from the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic to a reduction in homicides due to his security plan, Plan Control Territorial (TCP) and, more recently, the state of exception declared in late March [WR-22-13].
