MEXICO: Union hails wage deal with GM
On 12 May the local media circulated excerpts from a communique by Mexico’s Sindicato Independiente Nacional de Trabajadores y Trabajadoras de la Industria Automotriz (Sinttia), an independent union, regarding a deal struck with US automobile manufacturer General Motors (GM) over a wage increase for workers at its plant in Mexico’s Silao municipality, Guanajuato state.
