HAITI: Henry urges elections as challenges proliferate

This week marked the end of the term of the late president Jovenel Moïse (2017-2021) whose assassination last July plunged Haiti into further crisis. The official conclusion of Moïse’s term, itself subject to question amid a previous dispute with the opposition over term limits [WR-21-02], has provided critics of the country’s current leader, Prime Minister Ariel Henry, with renewed impetus in calling for his departure and for a transition government to be installed.
