* Mexico’s supreme court (SCJN) has partially suspended a decree issued on 22 November, by President
Andrés Manuel López Obrador which declares infrastructure projects carried out by the federal government an issue of national security. The SCJN announced its decision after accepting an appeal presented by the national institute for transparency and access to information (INAI), an autonomous government body, against the decree on the grounds that it could jeopardise the right to access to information. The suspension remains in place while the SCJN determines whether or not the decree is constitutional.
