* Peru’s labour ministry (MTPE) has announced that a second group of companies will benefit from the 'recovering formal employment' subsidiy, which has a total budget of PEN$45.86m (US$12.36m). According to the MTPE, a further 115,149 jobs in 20,516 companies will be supported by the subsidy which is calculated on an individual basis depending on the company, in addition to the first list published on 12 April. The subsidy is part of efforts to recover and preserve formal employment in the private sector. According to the MTPE, of the companies to benefit under the latest announcement, 25.5% operate in trade; 15.7% in services; 11.9% in manufacturing; and 11.9% in transport & communications, among others.
