* Ecuador’s state-run oil company, Petroecuador, has awarded Singaporean firm, Trafigura PTE, a contract to export 1.9m barrels of number six fuel oil. Trafigura PTE was one of 39 foreign firms invited by Petroecuador to bid for the export contract and beat out offers from US firm Glencore, China’s Petrochina International, and London-based Freepoint Commodities, with a price of US$2.65 per barrel below West Texas Intermediate (WTI) prices. Petroecuador estimates that the contract will bring in US$122.4m, with shipments beginning in May.
