Uruguay: Uruguay XXI, the country’s official investment and export promotion agency, has released figures that show that Uruguayan exports increased by 2.1% in August compared to the same month last year. Exports increased to a total of US$846m in August, after falling for four consecutive months. Sales of beef, dairy products, cattle, and malt all contributed to the increase in exports, while sales of soya continued to fall. According to Uruguay XXI, China is the main destination of Uruguayan exports, followed by Brazil and the US.
