*Peru’s national government has transferred US$313m to the central region of Huánuco for development projects, according to Prime Minister César Villanueva. The money will be used to improve local health, education, and sanitation facilities and invest in infrastructure projects to improve communications and roads. On 17 May, President Martín Vizcarra travelled to the region for a meeting with local mayors and heads of the 11 provinces of Huánuco, called the Muni-Ejecutivo, to identify the social and economic development priorities in the area.
