Venezuela: Panama’s Compañía Panameña de Aviación (Copa), one of Latin America’s leading airlines, has resumed operations to Venezuela. The route was suspended amid a diplomatic spat last month triggered by Panama’s inclusion of President Nicolás Maduro and other top Venezuelan government officials on a watchlist for money laundering and financing of terrorism. On 26 April however, following talks facilitated by the Dominican Republic’s President Danilo Medina, the Panamanian and Venezuelan governments announced the re-establishment of diplomatic and commercial relations.
