Uruguay: The national statistics institute (INE) has released new figures that show that the national unemployment rate stood at 9.3% in February, a 0.8 percentage point increase compared with the January unemployment rate (8.5%) and 1.1 percentage points higher than the rate recorded in February 2017 (8.2%). The February unemployment rate figure is the highest in Uruguay since February 2007 and suggests that the low levels of economic growth registered in Uruguay recently is now starting to affect the labour market.
