Paraguay: Paraguay’s national public-sector contracts’ oversight body, the Dirección Nacional de Contrataciones Públicas (DNCP), has announced that it has sanctioned 49 local firms contracted to supply services to the state in the first quarter of the year but which have been found to have violated the legislation on state contracts. A DNCP statement said that the sanctioned firms had failed to meet their contractual obligations or were found to have provided false information to secure state contracts. The DNCP said that 36 of the 49 firms sanctioned have now been declared ineligible to bid for new state contracts, while the remaining 13 have been fined.
