Argentina: Argentina’s transport ministry led by Guillermo Dietrich has announced that it will put out to tender 2,500km of roads through public-private partnerships (PPPs) to improve the country’s transport links. This is part of the ‘Red de Autopistas y Rutas Seguras’ programme, which aims to promote infrastructure development, improve road safety, and reduce logistics costs. The first auction will take place in March. This is part of a wider government initiative to modernise more than 7,000km of public roads, which is forecast to generate US$16.7bn in investment.
