Peru’s government raises stakes with congress

President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski has been forced to appoint a new cabinet after the unicameral national congress, controlled by opposition Fuerza Popular (FP) party, ousted the last one. This deepens an ongoing political stand-off which could lead to new legislative elections if congress also rejects the new cabinet.
