Argentina: The agriculture ministry has announced that Argentina will be able to export lemons to Mexico for the first time after inspection agencies from the two countries reached a new agreement on sanitary protocols. Argentina is the world’s biggest exporter of fresh yellow lemons, with exports totalling 279,339 tonnes (t) and worth some US$289m in 2016, and access to Mexico’s market of 127.5m people is a boon for Argentina’s lemon producers.
