Argentina: The umbrella trade union Confederación General del Trabajo (CGT) has announced that it will stage a mobilisation on 22 August to protest against the economic policies of the government led by President Mauricio Macri. The decision was announced by one of the CGT’s ruling triumvirate, Juan Carlos Schmid, in protest at the expulsion yesterday morning by some 100 members of the security forces of some of the 600 laid off employees of the US company PepsiCo Snacks who had occupied the plant in the northern Buenos Aires suburb of Vicente López.
