President Lenín Moreno received 60 representatives of the umbrella indigenous organisation Confederación de Nacionalidades Indígenas (Conaie) in the presidential palace on 4 July. Moreno is making a concerted effort to heal a serious rift with Conaie which persisted throughout the decade-long administration of his predecessor Rafael Correa (2007-2017).
