Development: On 7 June Francisco Ortega Palanco, a special instructing judge designated by the Dominican Republic (DR)’s supreme court (CSJ), ordered the pre-trial detention of eight of the 14 people indicted in the DR in relation to the government corruption case involving Brazilian engineering firm Odebrecht, while two others were placed under house arrest.
