Argentina: The federal finance minister, Luis Caputo, has announced that the national government and the provincial government of Santa Cruz province have reached a new agreement by which the national government will provide the financially troubled province with a Ar$750m (US$46.7m) credit line to help it close its fiscal deficit. Caputo said that as part of the deal the Santa Cruz provincial government has agreed to adopt a fiscal consolidation plan that would lead to the elimination of the fiscal deficit by 2020.
