Chile: Chile’s main students’ organisation, Confederación de Estudiantes de Chile (Confech), has called another national strike for 1 June in rejection of the current education reform bill that the Nueva Mayoría coalition government led by President Michelle Bachelet is seeking to push through the national legislature. The protest has been called to coincide with President Bachelet’s final balance sheet of her current four-year term, ahead of the November general elections.
