International NGO Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has released its annual World Press Freedom Index, which showed big disparities in its findings for Central America. Press freedom is highly unequal in this sub-region; however, an overall negative trend appears in the RSF Index. This matches the global situation, with RSF noting that press freedom has worsened in two-thirds of the 180 countries included in the Index.
