El Salvador: El Salvador’s attorney general’s office has announced the seizure of 1.8 tonnes (t) of cocaine and 32,142 grams of marijuana in Ilopango municipality, San Salvador department. According to the US State Department’s International Narcotics Control Strategy Report (INCSR), released in March 2017, Salvadoran authorities seized approximately 12.2t of cocaine in 2016 – an amount which the INCSR report notes was over four times that seized in 2015.
