Kenji Fujimori has called on Peru’s political parties not to play ‘ping pong’ with the life of his father, the disgraced former president Alberto Fujimori (1990-2000). It is back to politics-as-usual in Peru, after the recent flooding crisis temporarily obliged the political class to work in the national interest, rather than for narrow vested motives. After a stumbling start, the government led by President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski appeared to find its mojo during the crisis and now is enjoying renewed popular support.
