Bolivia: President Evo Morales has announced a new US$346m employment plan which aims to create more than 60,000 jobs. The plan comprises five planks: urban infrastructure, protection and rehabilitation of productive areas, labour insertion, incentives to generate employment, and a seed fund. President Morales said that last year 151,833 people were unemployed in Bolivia (4.5% of the population of working age). He said that the new plan aims to reduce this to 91,233 – or 2.70% of the working age population.
