Colombia: President Juan Manuel Santos has confirmed that the recent natural gas discovery made by state-owned oil firm Ecopetrol in Colombian Caribbean waters is the biggest of its kind in the country since 1989. Ecopetrol has said that it believes that the gas fields discovered in deep waters off the coasts of Córdoba and Sucre departments could contain some 500m barrels of oil equivalent natural gas.
