Colombia: On 23 April group of five foreign tourists (one French national, one Spanish national, and three US nationals), who last week had been reported missing in Colombia’s south-eastern Vaupés department, were found by the local police. The tourists said that after becoming lost in the jungle they were retained for three days by armed men believed to be dissident members of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) guerrillas, who have refused to adhere to the group’s formal demobilisation process as part of the peace deal signed between the Farc leadership and the Colombian government last year.
