The 33rd Havana International Fair (FIHAV), the first since the historic rapprochement between the US and Cuba, is taking place on 3-7 November to unprecedented interest, with exhibitors from 70 countries in attendance. Of several announcements at the start of the fair, news that trade with China has risen 57% this year to US$1.6bn is well worth noting. For all the noise about the détente with its near neighbour, Communist Cuba continues to put major stock in strengthening its ties both with China and with Russia, now major investors on the island.
