BOLIVIA-CHILE | Flap highlights touchiness of border. On 3 September the commander of the Bolivian army’s 2nd Division, General Teddy Ayllón, announced that an unspecified number of troops had been sent to the border between Oruro and Arica, to investigate a report according to which at least 25 Chilean Carabineros had crossed the boundary in eight vehicles and proceeded to remove four boundary markers.
