PARAGUAY: After military ‘take control’ the EPP strikes again

Less than a month after the first deployment of army-police units in pursuit of the Ejército del Pueblo Paraguayo (EPP), the guerrillas struck again — though not in the area targeted by the military. The government has announced that it will be setting up a permanent military base in the north of the country to ensure continuity in the campaign against the EPP; rewards have been offered for several new suspected members of the organisation.
