For the second year running, Andean countries will be keeping the International Court of Justice (ICJ) busy with major territorial disputes. Involved will be Colombia (again with non-Andean Nicaragua), and in two separate suits Chile, with Peru and Bolivia. To this must be added four other unresolved disputes, of which two may yet be taken before the ICJ, one which is being dealt with bilaterally, one that has been lying dormant but is showing signs that it may be revived and one that is hibernating. Involved in this latter batch are Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and Brazil.
