Campaign begins at frantic pace

Mexico’s presidential election campaign set off at a rattling pace this week. No sooner did the campaign officially start at the turn of midnight on 30 March than the three main contenders began the process of fleshing out their plans to bring about economic and political change in Mexico. By mid-week the focus of the campaign quickly shifted to the country’s omnipresent security problem, perhaps the most important issue for voters.
