Honduras | New finance minister.  On 14 February Héctor ‘Tito’ Guillén was named the new finance minister, replacing William Chong Wong, who resigned a day earlier. Guillén had been serving as president of the congressional budget commission.  A member of the ruling Partido Nacional (PN), Guillén is linked to the wing of the party run by the head of congress, Juan Orlando Hernández, who has presidential ambitions for 2014. Guillén said he supported the work done by his predecessor and acknowledged that his main challenge would on the fiscal side. Chong Wong hinted that he quit because of conflicting pressures coming from civil sectors for more spending and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for fiscal restraint.
