The newly improved political ties between Colombia and Venezuela have
yet to translate into revived bilateral trade flows. Venezuela is currently in
trade limbo land, after its membership of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN)
expired and its pending adhesion to Mercosur (the Southern Cone Common Market)
still remains up in the air.
