ECONOMIC OVERVIEW: COLOMBIA

Inflation: According to the latest figures by the Colombian national statistics department (Dane), released on 5 May, inflation in April reached 0.12%, almost a quarter of the 0.46% registered in April 2010. Thus in the first quarter of 2011, inflation reached 1.91%, while the total inflation for the past 12 months was 2.84%; the central bank expects 2011 inflation to come in between 2% and 4%.
